The beginning...

When I became pregnant with Copal Angel in 2003, I started making my own pregnancy belly oils and diaper rash creams when I found it difficult to find safe body care products for myself and my growing baby. I discovered that many household items in our home that we use on a daily basis contain hazardous and toxic ingredients. This lead to the creation of my business Poetic Potions. Creating my own healing products was just the beginning of an intense self healing journey which has lead to many other new gifts and passions.

Aromatherapy changed my life
Working with herbal remedies, lead me to discover the many wonderful benefits of aromatherapy. I became highly intuitive, aware of my emotions and became happier and healthier than i've ever felt before.

I also became spiritually aware of my environment and the natural world around me. I felt connected to the plants, trees, the Moon and the Sun and understood that these Plant Spirit Guides lead me on this journey.

It hasn't always been easy...

Plant spirit healing was just the beginning of my journey. 
Although I was excited about my life moving forward, I couldn't shake these past emotional and energetic traumas I had gone through in my teen years. I didn't understand why I still felt guilt and shame about certain events in my life. My past was still very much an issue.

About 6 years ago, I dove into the topic of Transformation and the sub-conscious mind. I began learning more about Neuro-linguistic-programming (NLP), dream rituals, hypnotherapy & metaphysics from workshops, books, various self-develpment mentors I met along the way and Indigenous teachers in East Los Angeles, New Mexico and Columbia. Once I made the decision to expand my awareness... all of the people I needed to meet were showing up in my life!

Although I am proud to be Certified as an NLP practitioner and Aromatherapist, my biggest accomplishment, about 15 yrs ago, has been to choose a healthy lifestyle for myself and my family, in spite of being a lost and troubled teenager who dropped out of high school due to drugs and feelings of hopelessness. My guides and mentors taught me how to turn my challenges into learning opportunities and today part of my life's work is to share and guide others how they can do that for themselves as well. 

Art & Creativity, my greatest teacher
In my early twenties, I started mentoring troubled youth from the alternative high school I graduated from in Hollywood. From there, I went on to teach Life Skills and Arts & Crafts workshops at various After School Programs and Non Profit Organizations. This is how I discovered my passion for helping people and realized how powerful not only sharing our truth and stories about overcoming obstacles can be but ALSO how important the role of Art can be when transforming our lives. For many people, including myself, creating things with our hands, has the potential to be the highest form of manifesting change. This was certainly the case for me.

I am happy to say that through my teachers, mentors, plant Spirit Guides, ancestors, NLP training and friends I have met along the way, I have learned to find the blessings in every challenge or obstacle.
I have transformed my story about my past to be something that now motivates me and reminds me every day of how much I can accomplish and that I will always be supported. 

My Intention

My intention for sharing this story is so that everyone is reminded of their highest potential and continues to uplift each other by sharing and discovering their own gifts and continue co-creating with Mother Earth's gifts. Through our example, our children will also continue to shine their light everywhere they go!
